Difficulty Ratings
The difficulty ratings for each course are to help guide you in assessing which courses to take next. They are based on our opinion and how we have structured the courses.
Think of these more as a scale from introductory to challenging, rather than as "Levels".
Beginner Lindy Hop
The Beginner Lindy Hop Program covers all of the essentials to get started as a social dancer.
These courses should be taken in order from A-C.
No previous dance experience required.

This foundational course focusses on basic footwork, patterns, and dancing comfortably with a partner.
If you are new to swing dancing, we recommend starting here!

Here, we continue to explore fundamental and classic 6 & 8 count patterns, and piecing them together.

This course continues to focus on mixing 6 &8 count patterns, gaining confidence for social dancing, and preparing to swing out!
Lindy Hop
These courses can be taken in any order and are scheduled on rotation.
If you are brand new, we recommend starting with courses ranked 1/6 stars.

Learn a classic choreographed jazz routine.
We offer different routines on rotation, and difficulty rating may vary.

Charleston is a great option to add into your dancing repertoire. We'll cover the basics and work our way up.

Learn to make your swing outs more functional and effortless, and learn some fun shape and footwork variations to spice them up.

This course is all about swing outs, the Lindy Hopper's delight!
Learn the basic shape, and how to play with it.

This class covers Tandem Charleston, a dynamic and intricate pattern. We'll show you how to get into it using a Charleston Chase.
Lindy Troupe
Lindy Troupe is geared towards dancers that are ready to make a longterm commitment to improving their dancing. This is different from a typical class structure, in that we focus on specialized + catered topics each week, and you will be working alongside a cohort of other dedicated dancers.

Overarching themes will include essential foundations and technique for social dancing, musicality, flow, jazz dance history, artistic voice, and more.
These are topics that are not covered in our standard courses.

You can sign up for the Troupe on a monthly basis, though we recommend committing to several months.

Prerequisite: Complete the Beginner Lindy series or an equivalent.

Extra Perks for Troupe Members:
Discounted private lessons
Discounted weekend workshops
Free entry to Beginner Lindy courses (great for learning your Switch role!)

Discover the beauty of Balboa!
Start at Level 1 if you are new, and work your way up to Level 3.
No previous dance experience is required but it is encouraged.
Learn the basic rhythms, partner connection, and the art of comfortably leading and following Balboa.
This course covers some Pure Bal and Bal Swing essentials.

Build a better partner connection for the social floor, learn new patterns and concepts to play with.
You are not required to have taken Balboa 1, but must be confident with basic footwork, Come Arounds, and Out and Ins.

More Bal! Continuing to find the flow and transition smoothly between pure-bal and bal-swing.
To take this class, you must have taken Balboa 2, or be proficient with basic pure bal and bal swing concepts. Ask J&J if you're unsure.
