Level 1
Level 1 courses can be taken in any order.
No dance experience required!

This course is an introduction to partner dancing using 6 count rhythms.
This foundational course focusses on basic footwork, patterns, and building confidence for social dancing.
If you are new to swing dancing, we recommend starting here!

This course is an introduction to Charleston, a precursor to Lindy Hop. We will cover the basics of 1920's Charleston, solo and partnered.

Let's get moving and grooving. This course focusses on independent movement, and exploring rhythms.
Solo Jazz is a great way to build your artistic voice.

section A
Here, we cover classic 8 count rhythms and patterns, and work our way up to prepare for swing outs in Section B.
Please complete this before joining Section B.

section b
It's time to swing out! In this course, we focus on circles and swing outs, the Lindyhopper's delight.
This is the second section of this course, please start with Section A.
Level 2
Level 2 courses can be taken in any order.
Prerequisite: Complete all Level 1 courses.
Now that you have 6 and 8 count patterns, its time to combine them. We will use connection and partner teamwork to successfully put these patterns together.

We will continue to work on making swingouts more comfortable and fun, and adding some variations to play with on the social floor.

Expanding on the basics. This class will cover hand-to-hand Charleston, Tandem, and unique Charleston shapes.

This course will cover basic musicality concepts and jazz music structure to help understand and dance to the music more precisely.

We will work on more complex steps and rhythms that can be danced solo or mixed into your partner dancing
Level 3
Level 3 courses can be taken in any order.
Prerequisite: Complete all Level 1 and Level 2 courses.
Here we will work on the overall flow of your dancing, and the quality of movement.
Let's find your style!

Jam circles are a fun way to build camaraderie and be creative, and steals are great for jumping into a birthday jam or for switch dancing.

We will work on techniques and strategies for dancing to faster tempo's. As much as we love switching to Balboa, fast Lindy can be fun too!

This is J&J's bread and butter. We will nerd out on connection concepts that will improve your partner dancing and musicality.

We will choose a routine to work on as a group! This may be a classic Lindy Hop routine, or something straight from the minds of J&J.
Balboa
Our Balboa program is separate from the Lindyhop series.
Start at Balboa 1 and work your way up to Balboa 3!
No dance experience required for Balboa 1.
Balboa is perfect for crowded dance floors and faster music tempos.
We will go through the basic footwork patterns, connection, and comfortably leading and following.

We will work on building a better connection with your partner, new patterns and concepts to play with.

You are not required to have taken Balboa 1, but must be confident with basic up-hold and down-hold basics, and Come Arounds.

More Bal! In order to take this class, you must have taken Balboa 2, or be proficient with basic pure bal and bal swing concepts.
